We went to Corpus Christi for a summer and found the same problem. People on the beach said it was muddy Mississippi. It comes through the mouth Mississippi River where it empties into the ocean. Apparently, or it is contaminated with oils and such and such is just tacky, dark natural, I know. What made me laugh While that day … many of the young and beautiful girls were strutting their stuff on the beach and trying to look beautiful and sophisticated, prepared and "cute." Then they prance in the waves and the legs would be absorbed by the black sticky material beyond their knees. You should have seen the look of surprise their faces. Each had a hard time leaving the dirt. It's a bit like quicksand. Nobody was in danger, but it was fun!
