“Frank the Bunny” Donnie Darko metal mask sculpture — Where can I buy it?
In the movie Donnie Darko, Frank makes a metal mask of a horrific, creepy bunny face. I would like to purchase something like this as a piece of art to hang on the wall. Any ideas of where to look for it?
ebay has them. They are resin castings of an original sculpture that some entreprenurial artist created. Chances are that the one in the movie was also sculpted and cast, and not actually hammered from metal. Forging such a thing would have taken too much time and effort, especially for a low-budget film like Donnie Darko.
I could probably make you one from steel or aluminum, but there’s no way I could make it for the $100 price tag of the plastic casting on ebay. It would take me days, if not weeks of work…and could easily cost you hundreds of dollars.
