Any advice for a buyer first furnace?
I decided to buy an oven. I had no idea that there are many types. I was in a few places web and my head started to spinn all that variety of options (worse than the shoe store:) I know there are pottery kilns and glass. My question is, I can find an oven that could shoot both. I would like to make accounts jewelry, PMC, and small ceramic ceramic tile. Please bring me in a field if I fly here. My price range is something that up to $ 700. I have a place in a garage with it. I found a strange looking great out there. My box fuses in a basement has OVEN written in one of the switches. I learned that the previous homeowner was an artist, so I thought she had a furnace there.
Paragon Firefly. It costs just under $ 300. Powered by a 120-volt household outlet. Oven is small, but must be large enough to any PMC, beads, tiles, enamels, etc Paragon is excellent, you can get manuals, parts, support, etc. from them. Look in the furnaces used as well. I bought a large oven used and although it seemed a bit harsh, it was awesome. I paid 600 for it and a new one would have been about 3,000. I used in a professional studio and never gave me a problem. Furnace parts can be expensive so if you are not a "fix it yourself" people to avoid using an oven any obvious damage. (Cracks, oxidized background, etc. PS-very important for ventilation. Be sure to do this if the oven is at home.
