I want to install a wet bath and the only place I’ve ever seen one is in a Pottery Barn book.?
a wet bath is a bathroom that can withstand water hitting any surface and doesn’t have the confinements of shower walls for the shower.
If you are starting from scratch its all pretty straightforward…you will need to do the walls in the green-coated (water-resistant) sheetrock or Duroc (better but tougher to work with) and a good solid tile job. Setting the floor tile in masonry (“mud-job”) would be ideal. Caulk with a quality tub and tile caulk.
The tough part will be installing a floor drain in the center. You can keep the plumbing bill reasonable by opening up the walls around the drain and the cieling below
before the plumber even looks at it and closing it up yourself so the plumber only has to worry about the pipes.
Great project! Good luck…!!
