How to make traditional Mexican Frijoles?
When I make Frijoles I never can seem to get the flavor right. Mine are intended for bean and cheese burritos.. Everytime I make them, they don’t taste right. There is a very good mexican restaurant where I live called Tlaquepaque where their bean burritos are outstanding. I’m trying to get mine to taste the way they do in an authentic mexican restaurant. What am I missing?
I sort through the beans first and discard the bad ones.
I then soak them overnight.
I usually cook them with a chopped onion some salt and pepper and a tablespoon of bacon grease. I’ve also tried them with and without garlic. Still they never taste the same as the restaurants… Please any help would be appreciated
.
I am cooking beans right now, am mexican and I live in Mexico City, this is the way I cook them
After cleaning and soaking ( I just soak them for 30 mins) LOL
Put beans (black for today) water, 1tbl spoon of oil, garlic or onion, cook them and when they are cooked soft and nice… add salt that way they wont get “hard” they will be nice and soft. Enjoy!
I love black beans with epazote and pork skin… mmmmm just add some salsa… great!
