Can you put a wool/polyester blend garment in the washing machine?
I have a jacket that says dry clean only, but I really can’t take it to the dry cleaners right now, and I need it washed now.
It’s an 80% wool, 20% polyester shell, with a 100% polyester inner lining. The shell appears to be woven, but it’s hard to tell for sure because it is all black.
Will anything bad happen if I put it in the washing machine? Will it be okay if I put it on a delicate cycle with cold water? And I assume I shouldn’t put it in the dryer…right? Help!
Something BAD might happen…but if you use cold water and skip the rinse cycle; press out the water with towels and lay it flat to dry exactly how you want it to look. (You can DRAW an outline on paper first!)… then use Steam press when it is faintly damp and it should come out fine. Good luck and happy vacation!
